About
An independent agency, and what that changes
We are not employed by an insurance company. That single fact changes what we are able to tell you.
Independent means we can say no
A captive agent works for one insurance company and can offer you that company's plans. We are independent, contracted with a range of carriers, which means we can compare across them — and, just as importantly, we can tell you when none of them is right for you.
We are paid by the carrier when you enrol, at rates set by the carrier. It costs you nothing to work with us, and your premium is the same whether you enrol through us or directly. What we will not do is let that structure decide the recommendation.
How we work
- You get an agent, not a queue. The person who helps you enrol is the person you call afterwards.
- We review annually. Plans change their networks, formularies and prices every year. A plan that was right last year may not be this year.
- We handle the problems. A denied claim or a prescription suddenly not covered is when an agent is worth having.
What we do not do
We do not sell property or casualty insurance — no auto, no homeowners. We focus on health, Medicare, ACA and life, because those are the lines where the differences between plans are genuinely hard to see and where advice is worth something.
We also do not sell or trade your personal information. Ever. See our Privacy Policy.
ABG InsurePro™
We built our own agency platform — dialer, CRM, quoting and commission reconciliation — because the tools on the market did not do what our agents needed. It is now available to other agencies and FMOs at insureprologic.com.
